Kevin Wixted’s paintings and drawings have appeared nationally and internationally in over twenty solo exhibitions.  His shows have been written about in Artforum, Art in America, ArtNews, The  New York Times, Boston Globe, New York Observer, and the Hudson Review among others. His work is represented in public collections including the State Museum of Pennsylvania, Mississippi Museum of Art, Chase Manhattan Bank, General Electric, Hewlett Packard, Noruma Securities, Societe Generale, and Time Warner.

Wixted has been awarded a Cite Internationale des Arts Residency in Paris, a New York Foundation for the Arts Grant, a Josef and Anni Albers Foundation Residency, two MacDowell Colony Residencies, a Patrick Allen Frazier of Hospitalfield Residency in Scotland, two Excellence in Teaching Awards from Alfred University, and the International Fellowship for Faculty Development for Alfred University.

Wixted lives and paints in New York City and the North Fork of Long Island. He spends time each year in the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico, where he has designed and built a home/studio on the site of a former henequen hacienda. Wixted is Professor of Drawing and Painting in the School of Art and Design at Alfred University.
